Ceduna & Surrounds

Ceduna is a thriving seafood and oyster destination, and you can enjoy the stunning sunsets on the foreshore which has the benefit of the local hotel for dinner and drinks. In town check out Arts Ceduna and the Ceduna National Trust Museum, before heading out on the water. Fishing is plentiful, and nearby Davenport Creek (4WD required, or you can arrive by boat!!) is the perfect spot for a few days camping and catching a feed. Wittelbee Conservation Park and Laura Bay Conservation Park are great birdwatching locations, and also have bushwalks and sea views. Ceduna is also the tee-off point for the Nullarbor Links, the world’s longest golf course!

Nearby Smoky Bay is a quieter destination, with a beautiful bay ideal for swimming, fishing and just kicking back and relaxing. There’s a thriving oyster industry here, and SA Premium Oyster Tours offer excellent ‘Shuck ‘n Sip’ tours on their viewing platform overlooking the water, as well as shed and oyster lease tours. There are limited services in town but the General Store offers fresh oysters, and the coastline will make you want to stay for days – this is where you’ll find Point Brown!

Point Brown is well-known for the gorgeous rockpool you can find along the coast. It’s deep enough to fully submerge yourself but small enough to give off outdoor bathtub vibes! You’ll need to put your adventuring shoes on to get here – you might need to do some exploring to find it but that’s part of the fun! Because there’s more to it than just a rockpool – the whole area is a great place to explore and even spend a few days if you’re self-contained. Camp overlooking the cliffs and beaches, look out for dolphins frolicking in the water, indulge in some beach fishing or take a dip on a secluded beach. There’s also more than one rockpool to discover!

Discover artwork by over 130 different Indigenous artists from the Far West region at Arts Ceduna, inspired by connection to the land, the local resources and the ancestors. Arts Ceduna is located in the Ceduna Aboriginal Arts and Culture Centre and supports local artists with skills development, marketing and sales. Artists come from as far as Oak Valley, Yalata, Koonibba and Scotdesco, drawing on a diverse natural and cultural environment of land, sea, desert and ancestral stories. This is a great opportunity to buy art connected to country and support Indigenous artists in the process.
